This particular Abalone comes from New Zealand and is also called Paua shell. It has a deep Ocean Blue color. This shell displays how art in nature can form with beautiful intricate patterns and colors. Amethyst is a member of the quartz family. Found in Brazil and South Africa and many other places where quartz is mined. In Greek History Amethyst was known as “Amethos” and was put in drinking water to help facilitate sobriety and clarity of mind. Deep purple Amethyst was considered the color of royalty in Britain and is one of the best loved gemstones through out the world. Amethyst is a February birthstone. This necklace is made with 12mm faceted Amethyst coins as it's focal points. Combining the best of the jewel tones I used Amethyst, tanzanite Austrian crystals, faceted Peridot green roundels and Czech saucer beads. There are 14kt gold fill accents and tiny pale charlottes in between. These are some of my favorite colors to work with. Making this piece made me very happy to see how well they worked together, creating a very delicate yet striking set. The Necklace is 17" to 18" long strung on a high tech flex wire. The earring wires are Niobium.

Baltic Amber begins as fossilized tree resin or sap that flowed down ancient conifer tree trunks. As the sap grew older it hardened into a resin and mellowed into golden to dark brown color known as Amber. Some of the inclusions found within Amber are bubbles that have popped as it aged. Angelite, Named for its "Angelic" color, Angelite is the lilac blue variety of the mineral Anhydrite, (calcium sulfate). This Gemstone is lovely and simply attractive. It has a luminous glow to it and is easy to wear with jeans or a dress. Sterling Silver earwire. Size 25x3mm.
